ERP / Non-ERP Software Application Test Lead

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated ERP / Non-ERP Software Application Test Lead to oversee and execute end-to-end testing of enterprise applications, custom-built solutions, cloud platforms, and integrations across ERP and non-ERP systems. The ideal candidate will ensure quality, stability, and reliability of business applications through comprehensive test planning, execution, defect management, and continuous process improvements. This role involves collaboration with functional/technical teams, integration specialists, cloud architects, and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. ERP & Enterprise Application Testing
   • Lead testing activities for ERP systems (any major ERP platform).
   • Validate custom developments including reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and workflows.
   • Test web applications, mobile applications, and UI components.
   • Ensure end-to-end validation of configurations, master data, transactions, and business processes.
2. Testing for Custom-Built Applications & Cloud Solutions
   • Plan and execute testing for custom applications developed in Java, Node.js, .NET, CAP, UI frameworks, and mobile technologies.
   • Validate business logic, APIs, microservices, and cloud-native components deployed on enterprise cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP, or private cloud).
   • Perform functional, regression, integration, performance, and security testing for custom solutions.
3. Integration Testing (ERP ↔ Non-ERP Systems)
   • Lead integration testing across middleware, iPaaS, and API management tools.
   • Validate outbound/inbound interfaces (REST, SOAP, OData, Events, IDocs/EDI equivalents, RFC-style calls, SFTP, message queues).
   • Test data flows between ERP and non-ERP applications such as CRM, HR systems, Finance apps, WMS/TMS, and third-party platforms.
   • Ensure API contract validation, mapping verification, and end-to-end message consistency.
4. Test Planning, Design & Execution
   • Prepare comprehensive test plans, strategies, test cases, and test scripts covering ERP and non-ERP applications.
   • Define test data requirements and collaborate with infrastructure/DB teams for environment setup.
   • Execute manual and automated test cycles and manage UAT with business stakeholders.
5. Automation, Performance & Quality Governance
   • Identify automation opportunities and develop automation scripts using tools like Selenium, Tosca, UFT, JMeter, Postman, Cypress, or similar.
   • Define performance testing strategies for critical transactions, APIs, and integrations.
   • Establish QA standards, guidelines, traceability matrices, and best practices for a hybrid application landscape.
6. Defect Management & Reporting
   • Log, track, and analyze defects using ALM/Jira or similar tools.
   • Work closely with functional consultants, developers, infrastructure teams, and integration specialists to resolve defects.
   • Provide detailed test reports, KPIs, and insights on system stability and application readiness.
7. Stakeholder & Team Collaboration
   • Coordinate with functional teams, technical teams, cloud architects, and integration experts.
   • Facilitate UAT sessions, prepare user training, and guide business testers.
   • Lead and mentor a team of testers, ensuring continuous upskilling on modern testing tools and enterprise technologies.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

1. Technical Skills
   • Strong experience in ERP testing across major functional modules.
   • Hands-on testing experience with cloud platforms, integrations, APIs, and modern UI frameworks.
   • Strong understanding of REST/SOAP services, integrations, events/messaging, and middleware.
   • Experience with automation tools: Selenium, Tosca, UFT, JMeter, Postman, Cypress, or equivalent.
   • Ability to validate SQL queries, database objects, stored procedures, and perform backend validations.
   • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, GCP, or enterprise cloud ecosystems.
2. Functional Knowledge
   • Good understanding of business processes across ERP and non-ERP systems.
   • Ability to interpret functional/technical specifications, mapping sheets, and integration flow designs.
3. Soft Skills
   • Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-team coordination skills.

Education & Experience

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
2. 3–10 years of total QA/testing experience with significant exposure to ERP and non-ERP environments.
3. Experience testing enterprise applications, cloud solutions, and integrations.
